HF5 Continued

Hellaflush has always attracted some of the most amazing people with even more amazing cars. This was my first real event besides Hellaflush 3.5 and I have to say I’ve never experienced anything like this. 800+ cars filling the lot from beginning to end. I got there there at 7:30 and 1/3th of the lot was already filled. This was a sight to see in itself, and I thought I was early!

Though I had a great time I can easily say I spent 100+ hr working on everyones car making sure we were all ready for the meet. Nothing ever goes as planned and as humans we take shortcuts or do things last minute. I personally didn’t get to finish my car but it was worth the experience. As much as you try to plan ahead you don’t really understand the depth of the situation until your there in the last minute trying to mount tape your lip on. Was it worth all the hard work and time invested? Yes, because I did it for me. I honestly didn’t like the vibe I was getting from the locals and I know a lot of people feel the same way. Walking through the lane you can hear all the different chatter and hate. But thats the thing about these kind of events, they attract some of the best and some of the worst. Even though we may be ridiculed or hated on it makes absolutely no difference. I have pride in what I do, and everyone should do the same. This scene is all about creativity, culture, family, etc. Yet the ones trying the hardest, just trying to get a break gets left behind. I’m glad I meet those I have meet with a good mind set and a down to earth attitude and hope to hear from you soon.

Hopefully we will make it up to Norcal for HF6, because this is definitely not the end.

Thanks again Fatlace/HF for an amazing event

Texas does it big pt2

Update!

He now has the wheels on and is adjusting the little things. Wheels still need polishing but at least they are on! Hopefully he can work something out on the BCs because the shoot of him going up his driveway is spot on.

Texas does it big

When I say big I mean BIG (18×10 +28). I’m always looking for fellow Mazda owners out there pushing the limits and I happen to follow Michael’s “sumTHAIguy” progress. His CWP MS3 has gone through a good amount of wheels. Enkei Racing S (17×8 +28, 205/40/17) , Advan SA3 V1 (18×8.5 +28, 18×9.5 +35, 215/40/18), Gram Light 57 (17×8.5 +33, 225/45/17). But now hes on to BIGGER and better things. ABC Exclusives Front 18×9 +31, Rear 18×10 +28, 215/40/18 Federal 595′s all around. Its going to take some work but Im looking forward to seeing this when its all done. This isn’t the first MS3 to fit something 10 wide but This might be the first to be ascetically pleasing. His stance has been great thus far so I have no doubt that this will be perfect, aside from the BC coils being stubborn (not getting low).  I’ll keep you guys up to date with this one!

now for some pics.

Post HF 3.5!

What a day! Monday after HF 3.5 and I’m still feeling the jittery excitement. Might be the NOS they gave me in there goodies bag I drank this morning but I’m still definitely taking this in. This is our first HF event for SCM and it was amazing. I drove in a 2 car caravan but we had, if I remember correctly about 25 people in our group. Most everyone was on the grip side of the track on Buttonwillow Raceway Park while I tried to cover the HF/drift side of the event. Giving that this is my first HF event as well I spent a lot of time trying to analyze the crowd and the different cars and styles that were meshing together. Hundreds of different faces, all sorts of make and models, all together having a great time. I had a great trip and thank everyone for making this experience one to remember.

Also thanks Hellaflush/Fatlace, Team Drift Championship for going way out of there way and making this happen and Buttonwillow Raceway Park for having us.

If you just do a simple search you will find that the fitment game in the Mazda scene is a little slow. Every once in a while you see little specks pop up here and there. This can be good or bad. But it will always means that what we are doing is unique and special. Not Socal but some Mazdas doing it right.

These were found on Wrong Fitment Crew
